Facilitator & access notes
The original requires standing and bending or squatting; offer an adjusted-height version or another task when that is not accessible. Do not require anyone to work through pain.
How to facilitate it
- Invite a willing group to support a very light cane on extended fingers at a comfortable level.
- Ask them to lower it together while keeping it level and maintaining contact.
- If contact is lost, pause and agree how to restart rather than blaming an individual.
- Debrief what made coordinated movement easier or harder.
Reflection prompts
- Notice: What did this activity reveal about how we work together?
- Carry forward: What would you like to try next?
